Article about the story behind the Lovedesh Tee
Oh boy.
The trouble I have had come my way since I created this. The Lovedesh Tee.
Made from 100% organic cotton and by women in a worker owned factory.
Made to remember the Rana Plaza victims – as 1,136 died according to survivors of one of the world’s worst fashion tragedies, caused by factory collapasing due to poor health and safety.
Not only has it been horrific but a nightmare. But the good news is the tragic survivors of Rana Plaza in Bangladesh are all supporting me. And we are fighting to try and get a little girl from Bangladesh. Whose family are victims of fashion modern day slavery. To be flown to london for medical treatment.
She is 6 and has been very ill. And been in and out of hospital and her parents, are utterly exhausted. From the emotional and financial turmoil this has caused.
Life is tough.
There is no free medical and why, once I began exploring the root causes of poverty in UK & Bangladesh, I knew a key solution was ethical fashion. Most importantly, creating a ethical luxury brand that can help combat modern day slavery.
